WHS Hosts First Winter Percussion & Guard Competition

Our Winter Percussion ensemble is gearing up for WHS's first Winter Percussion and Guard Competition this Saturday, March 19th. Seven high schools within the NE region, will be competing in the winter percussion category and two winter guard groups will also be competing. Our ensemble and parent volunteers have been busy these past weeks preparing for an outstanding performance and hosting duties.  Opening ceremonies and performances will begin at 5pm this Saturday, March 19th. If you haven't experience a winter percussion show, please come with your family and friends-you will be AMAZED!

WHS Attends Inauguration Parade for Governor Malloy

On January 5th, the Marching Band and Color Guard marched in the Governor's Inauguration Parade in Hartford.  The Band was honored with an invitation from Governor Malloy and enjoyed the trip to Hartford for the historical event. Upon arrival we experienced a weird snow shower and we watched the flakes for quite awhile before it moved on and the sun came out again.  Some band members were interviewed by a few reporters covering the event while we warmed up prior to the parade start.

NEW ENGLAND & CT STATE CHAMPIONS!!!!

What a fantastic performance at the USSBA New England and State Championship Competition on Saturday, 10/23 in Bridgeport, CT.

The WHS Marching Band earned the crown of New England Regional Champion and CT State Champion with their best  score of the season so far @ 84.2. 

The show was enthusiastically received by the crowd on a beautiful sunny fall afternoon in Bridgeport.

On to Bunnell next week and then we will eagerly await our placement in the line-up for Northern State Championships in Allentown, PA

on Nov. 7th!
